History of Democracy and
republics
Democracy means rule by the people. Long before modern democracies there were numerous
instances where people supposedly ruled themselves, elected
or choose representatives.
The earliest examples are documented
in the Bible. After the flood of Noah the people were together to build a city and to
build a tower in Mesopotamia. They ruled themselves and wanted to make a name for themselves. They did not want to be ruled by God. They wanted equality with God (Gen. 11).
In the prophet Samuels day
representatives of the Israeli people came to ask for King, not a King of Gods
choice, but instead of their choice. The people rejected being ruled by God. They wanted to be like other nations. Just as in the US today they wanted someone who
would remove their individual responsibilities. Saul
was picked.
Saul though listened to the people,
i.e. democracy. The Lord through His
prophet Samuel commanded Saul to utterly destroy Amalek, a bitter enemy of Israel, all the
people all their animals. However, Saul and
the people spared the wicked Amalekite king and the best animals. Saul claimed it was for a sacrifice to the Lord
God. Saul feared the people and
listened to their voice. The Lord God does not care about religious clap-trap, services,
rituals, etc. He wants a leader who listens
to Him, not to the people.
Saul turned out to be a choice of
the people who followed the people. Saul
. Feared the people and listened to their voice. Saul was called a King, but actually was the
democratic choice of people and followed the command of the people.
After Saul David was chosen by God
as a man after Gods own heart.
All of us are sinners. Some individuals repent of evil and want to follow
God. However, the majority is
unrepentant and opposed to Gods mind and His anointed King. The majority of people imagines
foolishness and want to cast off rule by Gods King.
This was especially true concerning the Lord Jesus. The majority of His people despised and
rejected the Lord. Although there are many
professing Christians the majority of us would still reject the Lord. He will never be elected president etc. of
anything. He will though come with power and
seize power in the world..
Neither David nor his offspring were
without fault. However, when the people chose
a ruler, such as the case with Jeroboam, they chose evil.
After
the Davidic line s rule in Israel ended.
Greece had an experiment with democracy. Democracy
flopped. As with moat Democracies the whole
thing was a sham, a way for the elite, the lawyers etc, clever talker to subdue the people
and seize power. The elite used
democracy to persecute and
legally harass their opponents.
Democratic processes were used during
the Roman republic and even
afterwards during the time of emperors. Although the Bible states that elders
were to be selected by the Holy Spirit, but in the Roman Church, Bishops were of popularly
elected. Is this why the Roman church has so
much paganism mixed into it? We think that
is quite likely.
In the Middle ages there were
democratic processes used in Scandinavian countries, tings. Similar institutions functioned in the Venetian
and Swiss republics.
In modern times, before the 20th century there were
three large governments supposed to be based upon democracy: Britain, France, and the United States
Britain is supposed to be a
monarchy(constitutional), but since the 17th
century the monarch has been toothless and is now
reduced to clipping ribbons etc Since the
early 1700s the rulers have been
professional politicians, mostly lawyers (i.e. Jefferson, Madison, Henry, etc.) who have bought, paid, and manipulated the masses.
One could say that we live in a lawyerocracy. Lawyers
write the laws, interpret the laws, and enforce the laws.
How did the US come to be a
democratic republic? What did they rebel
against? What were the features of this
rebellion? How did the constitution come
about?
First of all the rebellion was
actually not against King George. He was only
a figurehead for a parliament, democratically elected.
The colonies (states) slogan complained about taxation without
representation. They did not have
elected representatives in parliament, but they really did not want representation in the
British parliament. Many others in British
society had no representation either then, but did not
rebel.
How did the Continental Congress
come about that wrote the Declaration of Independence? How did one get elected to that
Congress There were lots of different ad hoc congresses in various
locations. Sometimes people would elect
themselves and just attend. In other cases
colonial legislatures, themselves ad hoc creations would send representatives. Other times there were special elections. There, people
who were vocal in their loyalty to the Crown were physically kept from voting by mobs of
so-called patriots. In other cases
loyalists were beaten or otherwise intimidated.
Huge groups, hundreds of thousands, of loyalists were denied representation. Further, since the main agenda of these congresses
was to grip about British rule, why should happy loyalists want to participate in the
nonsense of the congress?
George Washington - As a Colonel in
the Virginia militia and fought with British against the French, He swore allegiance to
the British crown. Then he rebelled and was a
traitor. Not just a traitor, Washington was a
cowardly murderer. In New York City he had
several citizens hanged for being loyalists.
Elsewhere other so called
patriots tarred and feathered their loyalist neighbors. Loyalists were imprisoned by kangaroo courts. Loyalists were driven into exile and had their
property stolen by mobs of patriots. Is
this democracy and freedom of speech?
After the rebellion there were
millions of blacks and women whom the leaders of rebellion did not allow to vote, but they
were represented. This was in the costitution
written by lawyers, Masons Jefferson and Madison.
Furthermore, even today in the US
there are retards etc who cannot vote, but they are taxed, ruled, etc. Today millions of American human beings are denied
voting rights, then murdered. Democratic
groups, bureaucrats, and lawyers refer to this as the right to choose
abortion.
Eighty some years later
power-hungrylawyer and politician Abraham Lincoln's "United" States fought a war
against its own citizens to "preserve the union" What was
desired was rto preserve, extend and ampify the power of ther governing, lawyer
class. Government of the people, for the people, and by the people" is
actually parasitization of the people, for the lawyers, by the bureaucrats! Slavery
was not just imoral ,itwas stupid. Licoln never fought the war because of slavery.
Slavery was an inefficient system that would have died a natural death without the
slaughter of 10's of thousands in the war.
After America imposed democracy upon
Iraq, the elected constitutional assembly imposed Mohammedism on everyone, including
Christians, by declaring that, Islam is the official religion of the state and is a
basic source of legislation.
One termed this as Sharia lite - So much for free
expression, so much for truth.
